Anyone know a P&S that has wide angle ( at least 28mm) that has remote shutter control? I need to take some low aerial shots...going to rig something on a long pole extension and need to be able to trigger the shutter.

Thats overkill...and expensive.
WOuld rather just run a long cord and have a long video out cord.
Doesnt need to be RAW either

You could set the camera to fire in 10 or so seconds with self timer. Don't know if that would be feasible or not.

Have you considered cheap DSLRs from Olympus or Nikon? I would think that their accessories would include such things and the prices are not that different from those of higher end compacts.

The simplest solution I used once, was a crude but functional wood bracket to hold the plunger end of a bulb release that had a 20 or 30 foot tube. The plunger tip (covered with some duct tape for protection) pressed against the camera shutter release.

A more flexible approach if you have a Canon digicam, is to load CHDK (search for that on wikipedia and google). The firmware temporarily loads on the camera and adds functions such as remote release when power appears on the USB connector. There are also scripts, such as bracketing, intervalometers, etc.

Haven't used it too much, but it does work on my SD800. And produces 10 bit RAW files.

Ricoh GR Digital II is 28mm and there's a 2.5' cable release for it that looks easy to extend if necessary (USB).

You might try any Canon that is compatible with CHDK "http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK" and using the USB remote cable "http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/USB_Remote_Cable"
