I like the IQ on the sample images posted over at DPR. I've been shooting with a 5D since it was introduced and there is something special about the image quality of the 5D MII. The pixel peepers can argue all they want; I just love the overall look of the photos, rich, buttery, wonderful bokeh, and some intangible warmth a la Leica. I'll give 'em six months to work out the kinks and then I'm upgrading!

Most of us will have to wait 6 months whether we want to or not dry.gif
B&H is already not accepting any more "notify when in stock" e-mails. Here in Ireland only a very few will be arriving in November and I'm pretty sure they're all already pre-ordered.

Probably a good thing. I'm a bit of an early adopter by nature and have already suffered the consequences a couple of times!

Isn't bokeh entirely dependent on the lens used, not the sensor? And certainly that intangible warmth is the result of tangible post-processing tongue.gif - in-camera or not, but reproducible nevertheless.

I downloaded a few of those shots to look at. And if they are genuinely representative of the quality one would expect, I won't bother ordering one. Looked like a cheap video camera and nothing like a 5D image.
Very disappointing. sad.gif
I'd like to see the RAW files to made a better judgement.
