I occasionally use my R2400 - very occasionally - and I achieve results that come very close to what I'm seeing on the screen.

The following are the settings I use and I would be very grateful for any feedback from those more in the know - i.e. most of you!

All printing is done on Epson Premium Luster paper.



Color Handling: Photoshop Manages Colors

Printer Profile: SPR2400 PremLuster BstPhoto.icc

Rendering Intent: Absolute Colorimetric

Printing Preferences:

Quality Option: Best Photo
Paper Options: Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster

Advanced Printing Preferences:

Color Management: ICM

Off (No Color Management): Box ticked.

This gives me a really close match to what I'm seeing on the screen.

Any suggestions for alternative settings/improvements?

Not sure if that's a typo but you shouldn't be using 'absolute colorimetric'.

Try 'relative colorimetric' or 'perceptual'. There's plenty of info on the web regarding these two options but both are meant for use with photographic type printing, absolute colorimetric is used with colour proofing.

I've been playing around with a shot of a large Gretag Macbeth colour checker and printing it life size in order to compare it with the real thing.

So far, I've been happiest with Absolute colorimetric.

I should also have mentioned above that I leave "High Speed" unticked. The difference with critical work is considerable.
