This may well be a very stupid question - but are printer profiles transferable between PC and Mac?
In other words, can I take my custom made profiles made on my PC and copy them over to my mac and start using them? Or do I need to remake them on the mac?
In my case I have a few custom made printer profiles I made with the Canon IPFX100 series 16 bit CS3 plug in on my PC and want to know if I can use them on the mac without any issue.
Thanks.

As long as it is a .icc or .icm file you should be just fine.

Yes both .icc and .icm suffixed profiles will go into the right folder if you right click and install them. Even if the default
CMM is listed as say Apple, it will find the next system default which will be the Heidelberg ICM motor. So yes both will work fine.

FWIW, I find the .ICC extension a bit more reliable.
