Cs3 I used photo-downloader extensively just changed over to cs4. My computer is newly reformatted. I'm using XP home edition with service pack 3. Their are no previews of thumbnails in photo-downloader. I cannot find anything on the net to help me with this problem! My pictures and thumbnails preview perfectly in bridge and elsewhere.

So what am I missing here? I download my images using a dedicated card reader....

I believe you still need to load the CODEC for you type of camera system.

i.e http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controll...p;modelid=17662
( Codec for a Canon 5D Mark II )

There is a codec for Nikon as well.

Another issue I have run into is the CACHE. If you "purge" the cache, that may help. I have run into this when updating the camera raw version

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but I could not get CS4 photo downloader to work unless my memory card included at least one jpg image. This is with XP3. So now I always shoot one jpg when I first insert a new memory card in my camera, then switch back to raw.
