What sort of lighting do some of you use for reviewing prints? I'm considering whether I should get something like the solux lighting as on this page: http://www.solux.net/cgi-bin/tlistore/info...r-proofing.html
At what point do you think in a photographer's progress/education would you think the most benefit from lighting would be worth the investment? i.e. Should I get these or just a few more lamps for my "dark" room from goodwill? smile.gif
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I use one of these https://www.solux.net/cgi-bin/tlistore/19370.html and it's too cheap to even think about debating. Try this and then decide if you want to spring for a full blown track system.

Another decent choice is an Ott Light. It is brighter than the Solux, but the spectrum is not quite as smooth. I have both, but usually use the Solux for viewing prints. When used at a distance from the print of 12 inches, the illumination is close to 500 lux, which is the level used in the ICC Spec.
