Am I crazy? It seems half of my screen has a very very slight magenta cast. I noticed this when working on proofing with a new paper. I was using the proofing to match a before image with a tweaked image with color proofing on. I tried switching the photos both without the proofing on, covering my eyes, tried duplicates of different photos, etc. and I continue to see the difference. I tried changing the lighting in the room thinking maybe this could be causing it. No. it seems it's the monitor. Has anyone experienced this before?

Do you have an LCD or a CRT? Analog or Digital?

That was one of many problems common to CRT's, some of which had elaborate controls to even out the color across the screen, and it was never quite possible to get it perfect. Have never seen that in my limited experience with LCD's. If you have a monitor driven by dual display cards try replugging the cable(s).

It's an LCD. Replugged the cable. Didn't help.

It's more noticeable when I calibrate using the native white point. I also noticed that the color is uneven where I can even see a certain blotchiness in color on the screen. Unfortunately I've had it for over a year so I think it's out of warrantee.

Oh well. There are much greater things to focus ones energy on than disappointment with money and a monitor.
