Hello all,
I'm in London, England enjoying some of the fine weather! I'm wondering if anyone knows some especially good day trips (for photography) from London where I can leave early in the morning, but be back by nightfall. I'm practically at Victoria Station, so hopping on the train is not problem. Any Ideas? Better yet, anyone want to come with me? To get a taste of what I've been up to over the past week, you can check out my blog, http://mikedotonline.blogspot.com.
There is, of course, more to conquer in London, but a nice trip would be fun too.

I'm not sure where Victoria Cross station might be (I know about Victoria and I know about Charing Cross, though!). I'd suggest Cambridge, which has some of the most beautiful buildings in England concentrated into a very small space (say, 10 minutes' brisk walk from end to end). It's less than an hour from London by train. Have a look here for some wonderful examples.
You'll also find some great scenery in Kent.

Right you are, Victoria Station. I looked at the page you posted, looks like lots of great stuff to shoot there! I'll have to start looking at train and bus schedules.
If you like old buildings and historic churches, Canterbury is a fascinating (and easy) day trip from London.

That sounds like a good idea, I found a cheap fare for tomorrow, so I think I will go. What are the places that I should go to while I am there (in Canterbury)?
How about Brighton as a new day trip. Plenty of things to shoot, seascapes by the pier, the pier itself, candids in the lanes. Then end the day with fish and chips on the beach before taking the train back to London.
Not quite out of London but I think another good day trip would be to go to Kew Gardens during the day time then at dusk take the bus over to Richmond Park to shoot the deer.

I was there about ten years ago, so my memories of it are a little hazy, but I'll try...
The cathedral is a must-do. There are several other very old churches (St. Margaret's is a very old and picturesque one I recall) and a very picturesque ruined church (St. Augustine's), and some streets lined with picturesque old (medieval?)buildings.
