There's a photograph made famous by Michael Fatali and others at Fantasy Canyon in Dinosaur National Monument. I'm sure just the mention of Fantasy Canyon will be enough for many photographers as this is about as famous as The Wave in North Coyote Buttes.
Fatali's photograph showed the eerie rock formation with the moon rising in the background. A beautiful image and one I'm sorely tempted to buy from him despite the price and my lack of a good wall to hang it on.

Fatali's gallery manager told me that the formation has since fallen over and I wondered if it is still worth a visit to this canyon. I would need to make quite a detour on my vacation.

Are there for instance other similar formations in that vicinity?

Many thanks

Although the 'teapot' fell over (or was knocked over), I believe there are plenty of other rock formations in that area that could be of interest. A quick search on PBase turned up this gallery: http://www.pbase.com/raymathis/fantasy_canyon
