If one has performed a hardware calibration of their monitor is it appropriate to install the manufacturer's monitor profile? I thought the manufacturer's monitor profile would negate the hardware calibration. True or not?

The manufacturer's profile is a broadly generic profile, and is in no way better than a hardware-generated unique profile for your monitor.

It's worth it initially (before calibrating) as the install disk often contains control drivers for the monitor. The actual .icm profile becomes irrelevant once you calibrate the display.

Do the hardware calibration first, then profile.
