But I can only afford to buy the gel... maybe.

Seriously, I liked the video and I was amazed seeing the precision spacers to distanciate the sensor.

That's nothing: you should have seen the architect designing the entire, original, Foro Romano!

Nikon F2's used to have spacers under the viewfinder glass to make the focus on the ground glass match the focus on the film. I went on a two week job in Paris (traveling from Los Angeles) shooting with a brand new F2 body where some-body at the factory forget to adjust them. And there was no Smart Sharpen then! I got really good at finding on-location labs after that.

I am starting to favor my D5000 over much better cameras because after 35,000 shots and a bazillion prime lens changes there is not one single perceivable piece o' crud on the sensor. No gel required, priceless.
