Howdy all. I'd like to share a recent photo. It is a fringed gentian, quite rare in my locale. I've been trying to get a good photo for two years now and think this is my first keeper.

Dan, nice job with the selective depth of field. What camera/lens were you using? Such a beautiful flower, it seems like it should be rare.

Canon 1ds3, 180mm macro at f/5.6, I think. This is one photo out of a series that will be focus blended. I don't think I'll blend the whole flower though, I like the soft look of this one.

No! Don,t blend this one. The blend is one of in and out of focus, that creates movement and delight.

Haven't seen such a flower ever. Good capture..looks realistic.
I especially like the blue feathers at the top.
