Has anyone noticed an advantage in upgrading from ColorVision Spyder2 to Spyder3?

When I went from the Spyder2 Pro to the Spyder3 Elite, the Spyder3 package measured my luminance level differently and reported slightly higher values for a given Backlight setting. I also noticed much better shadow detail when viewing black and white test images in Photoshop. I currently use the Spyder3 "puck" with ColorEyes Display Pro software and it's better still.
