Have been working on a project of 2 large panos for a client. I have printed samples for their review in paper . One is 24 X 72 and the other 24 X 120. The 10 foot long photo and is 1gb file. 36 shots with my D300. A thousand mb file is really big but Autopano Pro did a wonderful job. We will be cropping some of the 10 footer to get it to a more realistic 8 foot length for hanging. The client now wants these in canvas but as a (44" canvas) 36 inch canvas gallery wrap instead of a (24" canvas) 20" gallery wrap. They also came in with 4 photos they want printed to 40 X 40.
Just got off the phone and ordered me a 9900 for this work. I have been looking at the 9900 since buying my 7900 in Dec.
I probably do not have enough work for both printers so may sell the 7900 if someone here in the northeast (se Pennsylvania) is interested. Just not interested in packing it up and shipping it somewhere.
Really love the 7900 so if no one shows up my door to buy it, it will still have a good home.
All I can think about now is feeding ink to 2 of these babies, ouch.

You can always become a high volume service printer, ouch!

Not a chance. Would prefer to use it more then I do now but am working on offering Canvas Workshops this winter and the second printer would really come in handy.

Give it to a non profit 401C and take a tax write off. Lots of schools and such that could use it. Just don’t feel to guilty you’re addicting them to expensive ink and paper <g>

Maybe load 7900 with photo black, just use it for photo paper. While 9900 with matte black only for canvas and posters. That's what I would do.

Dan,

I live in Pittsburgh and would pick it up. I'm in Mexico right now, but would like to discuss it further.

I sold my 7880 & 9880 through a combination of Fredmiranda & Craigslist & can't complain at all .... except that it takes about 2 weeks to get any responses : )

Good Luck : )
