Keep us posted on what happens with this. I would much rather take something like the Delkin or Nixvue, which is much smaller and easier to carry around than a laptop, a much more expensive option, which I would never use for anything but that. Maybe yours was just a defective copy. Anyway, keep us informed.

Hi, everyone. I solved the problem...
I ordered a Ridata 512mb compact flash card, after trying some other smaller compact flash cards that worked fine with the Delkin, while my 512mb Samsung would not work right.
Worked like a charm. 512mb downloaded to the Delkin in six minutes, rather than only 20% of the Samsung card in one hour.
So, if you're in the market for a Delkin picturepad, make sure not to get the 512mb Samsung compact flash with it, or at least check first with Delkin to see if they now have a firmware upgrade to take care of this.
Pete.

Well, after reading Michael's review on the Delkin PicturePad (and a few other reviews), I was sold and bought the 30gb version. Well..., unfortunately, just trying to copy over a 512mb Compact Flash card onto the Delkin took SO long that the battery wore out before is was even 20% complete (around 50 minutes).
According to Steve's digicam, this is only supposed to take between 3 and 4 minutes. I went through the minimalist information on troublshouting, and followed the manual's suggestion of defragmenting the PicturePad using my computer. Still no luck. I'm going to return if I can't get a solution from Delkin's tech support.
Anybody had this problem? Makes me want to go back to sticking the laptop in the pack again...
Pete.
This is definately not the way it's supposed to be. It should take about 15 minutes to copy a full 1GB Microdrive.
I'd return it for a new one.
Michael
