I was a little confused though by some of the test results. Several cards with 24x speeds appear to write faster than some with much higher x ratings. Very strange!

It just goes to show that manufacturers' claims should'nt be taken too literally.

That's why real world tests are of utmost importance!  biggrin.gif

I've just bought a D30 on Ebay to dip my toe into the digital ocean after many years using film.
Can anyone tell me if using the higher speed Compact Flash cards (eg 66x speed) will improve the image processing speed of the camera. Much of what I have read suggests these cards are best suited to the latest DSLRs, but would my D30's time from taking a shot to the buffer writing to the card be significantly reduced?

Many thanks,
