I guess the title pretty much sums it up. I tried using the button with the word image on it. What happens is that a dialogue pops up. In the dialogue I am supposed to give the address of my picture. I tried entering the address on my desktop however, when I tried to post the message nothing happens.
What am I supposed to do?

The file needs to be hosted on the net - you can't post it from your desktop

Elsewhere the request has been made for capability of direct uploading of images so that one did not have to use a web host as the vehicle. I wonder whether that is possible with Ikonboard? I administer a bulletin board (powered by vBulletin) which automatically does allow image posts, so I know that generically at least it is not a problem. It would sure make life easier!

It doesn't seem fair to Michael to make him foot the bill for a bunch of photographers to post their images here, unless it's on some kind of subscription basis. How about a modest amount of image space available to those who subscribe to the LLVJ? Just a thought.

I would agree with Eric, if there is any cost involved. On the Board I run there is not--it's a feature of the board. The idea of using LLVJ subscribers has merit.

For a mere $30/year you can have Smugmug host all your photos and you can link to them in this forum.

Make a community gmail account. There's over 2.5GB of storage space and photos could rotate through as needed. A few rules and responsible participants and it could work.

Happily this is not true any more on the new board. See my thread of a few minutes ago, though I am not the first to discover this feature.
