My dad reads this forum and thinks maybe I can get some help here. I am in 7th grade and doing a science project called Digital Photography, How Many Pixels Are Enough? I would like to find out how many pixels is enough sense there are so many differnent mega pixel camera's.

My dad was thinking that if I got a large mega picture I could size it down to match a lower resolution like an one mega pixel camera, 2 MP, 3 MP, and so on. I would then print each full size and a crop at diferent size pictures to see how big the pictures could be at a given resolution.

So what I need is a high quality, high resolution picture. My dad said a camera like a 1DSmk2 would be best. Does anyone have a picture i can use? It will only be used for my science fair project and for nothing else! Or you can point me with a web site that I can download a picture. I need it in a .jpg format.

here's a link to some 1DSMKII shots:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos1dsmkii/page27.asp

just click on any of the pictures and a small resolution version will show, scroll down to the bottom and you have the option of downloading the full resolution picture.

Good luck with your project.

DPReview is definatly a good spot for example images. You can even get some off of Canon's product pages for each camera (mostly the japanese site). Here's the page for the 1Ds MKII:

An article that might be of interest to you is this one over at ClarkVision. It's a bit old (technologicly speaking), but still has some good info.
