The Winning Entry

David Graham of Pawleys, South Carolina submitted the winning entry to Issue #2's Assignment Competition ó Clouds. Congratulations David!

David wins a one year (4 issue) extension to his subscription the Video Journal, with $100, as well as a chance to win free attendance at a future Luminous Landscape field Workshop ó worth $1,000.

By coincidence, this photograph was taken during the last evening of my Fall Colour Workshop in Great Smoky National Park last October. David used a Canon D30 to take this photograph.

What made this entry stand out was the unconventional composition (moon lower-left), as well as the intensity and saturation of the colours.  I wanted entrants to think "outside the box". That's why the topics for these competitions are as broad as they are.
