Olympus Micro 4/3, A Mirrorless Camera That Has It Figured Out
I posted a video recently about the Mirrorless War. Like it or not the Mirrorless Revolution is upon us. Nikon has recently announced their new Z6 and Z7 mirrorless cameras. Canon can’t be far behind. We are also hearing that Panasonic may be getting ready to release a full frame mirrorless camera. And, no doubt Fuji and Sony will join the fray with new announcements soon too. It’s Photokina month and not only will there be a lot of camera announcements there will also be a lot of other announcements like software, lighting, tripods and more. Fun times are ahead for us.
In this episode of On The Rocks, we visit with one of the forerunners of the mirrorless market, Olympus Cameras. Jody, Phil and I are joined in this episode by Mike Amico as we discuss the Olympus camera line as well as lenses.
We explore a bit of the past as well as why we like the system and how we use it. Jody keeps prying about new products and at the end of the video we have a surprise visit.
I have owned numerous Olympus camera bodies and a number of pro lenses for years now. The Olympus OMD line is a super well-designed camera with a long list of features. The Pro-Lens line up with the AF/MF clutch is purely brilliant as well as the lens shade implantation on the 50-140mm lens.
This video is fun and a discussion on the Olympus Cameras. All three of your hosts own the Olympus and we enjoy the user experience very much. Stay tuned in coming weeks for more company representatives as guests on our On The Rock series. It’s an exciting time for all of us in photography and we have plans to keep you posted on all the latest news.
