To understand what this all means, and why it is so exciting, we need to go back to 2004, before the new printers and inks. The previous generation Epson Pro 4000 was a 7 ink printer that had 8 cartridge slots. This meant that you could have both thePhoto Blackand theMatte Blackinks loaded at the same time, and could therefore print on either glossy paper or matte paper without the need to do anything other than choose the correct printer profile.
