Antarctica XXI

Antarctica – Every Shade of Blue

The grant includes a photographic expedition to Antarctica
to take place in late 2016 / early 2017, including airfare from the recipients location
to Santiago, Chile, where the voyage begins.

Please note that for this period there were no grants awarded for either
The Greater China Grant or The Emerging Young Photographer Grant.
The reasons are that the jury and Board did not find any of the submissions suitable.

New Grants Now Available

As of Feb 1, 2016 there are now ten grant opportunities available for the period that ends June 30, 2016. (The Antarctica XXI grant is only available once annually, has just been awarded, and is thus not currently available).

The Greater China Grant has been both renamed, and is now open to anyone, from anywhere in the world. It was previously only available to persons living in Greater China.

A very exciting new grant has just been made available. It is The 2016 Art Wolfe Next-Generation Photographers Grant. This grant will provide a week-long workshop experience with Art Wolfe for seven photographers in Katmai, Alaska this coming summer.

The application requirements are quite stringent, but for those that qualify and are accepted it will be a significant opportunity and experience. Also, please note that while our usual first half year grant period ends June, 30, 2016, submissions for The 2016 Art Wolfe Next-Generation Photographers Grant grant must be submitted no later than March 31, 2016.

Another major new grant available for the first time is The Southern Exposure Grant. Sponsored by a major charitable foundation this grant’s purpose is to fund photographic projects whose focus is the people, culture and landscape of the American Southeast.
