Monument Valley Moonrise, 2000
Whenever I plan a shooting trip, or a workshop, I first check to see when there will be a full moon that month.  Unless there's a compelling reason to schedule the trip on another date I try and find myself on location during the full moon, since it rises and sets close to sunrise and sunset times, producing some wonderful photographic opportunities.
The photograph above was taken from the Monument Valley visitors center about a half hour before sunset on the day before the full moon.
