Custom Function 19

What Is It?

The ultra telephoto L-series Canon IS lenses, launched in July 1999, have a new function called "AF Stop" with four "AF Stop" buttons on the lens. The EOS 3 can use these new AF Stop buttons for other functions by setting CF19 (custom function). CF19 is, however, not incorporated into the cameras as shipped from the factory, so the setting must be done at Canon service facilities.

Custom Function 19 Details:

CF19-0…By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will stop the AF drive.

CF19-1…By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will activate the AF drive.

CF19-2…By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will activate AE lock.

CF19-3…By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will activate a change in focusing point selection, I.E., you can switch to manual or auto or eye control.

CF19-4…By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will be able to select the AF mode by changing from one-shot AF to AI servo or vise-versa.
