SEASONS

Like most petroglyphs or pictographs, The Great Gallery is best photographed under overcast or shady conditions. In September or October the panel will be in the shade after about 2:30PM.

Similar light conditions and moderate temps for hiking will also occur in the spring. The bonus of a fall trip is that you might just catch the cottowoods in the canyon turning a wonderfull shade of gold.

Take multiple shots on a tripod and stitch a panorama together later.

TIMES

Mid to late afternoon works the best on a typical desert sunny day..
