The Luminous Endowment
Michael Reichmann – founder and principal owner of the Luminous Landscape.
Three years before his death this past May, Michael conceived & founded the Luminous Endowment. His idea and passion was ‘to pay it forward’* by providing funding to deserving photographers for future and developing projects. With his ‘seed’ funding to the Endowment through his stunning Michael Reichmann – a Twenty Year Photography Retrospective book, Michael has been able to attract funding from generous individuals and corporations that now fund eleven different Grants. The Endowment encourages donations both large and small. The Luminous Endowment is a not-for-profit charity under section 501(c)(3) of the United States tax code.
Twice a year the Luminous Endowment awards grants to photographers based on project submissions to one of those eleven Grants. Today, we are delighted to announce the Winners of the second series of Luminous Endowment Grants for 2016. In this second half of 2016, there were nine grants open to competition.
The standard of submissions was higher than ever and the competition fierce with many compelling entries from countries around the world. Our deep thanks and respect to all those who submitted Grant applications, to the Jury members who judged the nearly two hundred submissions and of course, to the individuals and corporations who fund the Grants.

The next round of Luminous Endowment Grants will be awarded in early 2017 and the start of the new Grant application period will be announced here and on the Luminous Endowment website in the Fall of 2016.
