PXL Print IT Video Series

You may have noticed that PhotoPXL was a little quiet this week. Usually, I try to publish an article every two to three days. However, lately, I have been working hard on our upcoming Fine Art Printing workshops that will be held in our new studio and classroom at the Stutz Building in Indianapolis.
I published an article on our new studio space — Welcome To The NEW PhotoPXL Studio and Classroom — back in September. Since then, we have been installing new printers and getting things working.
This past week we had an epic few days of creating videos on printing. I was able to get together some of my friends and truly-respected experts in the printing field together at our new studio to participate in the making of 16 videos.
It was great to get people back together in the same space (safely) and do a series of videos that we are sure all of you will benefit from. Participating in these videos were:
Jeff Schewe, photographer legend, Adobe Lightroom expert, and one of my best friends. I have had the privilege to travel to a few corners of the world with Jeff and they have all been unforgettable adventures.

Dan (Dano) Steinhardt from EPSON was also with us. Dano has been in many of our videos before at that other site. In my opinion, he’s a legend and all-time advocate for the photographer. He’s the marketing manager for Epson America and is one of the most knowledgeable people I know on inkjet printing. Plus, he’s just a lot of fun to be with.

Joining us from Colorbyte Software is John Pannozzo. John’s Imageprint is an amazing piece of software that I swear by for my printing. It’s one of the best and most versatile software products out there when it comes to making prints. It also interfaces with an amazing cutting device that cuts your images out of a sheet of paper once printed. Oh, did I mention that Colorbyte Software has some of the finest paper profiles there are?

Michael Durr, who is our video producer, handles multiple camera and screen captures during these stressful shooting sessions. He single-handedly handles three cameras, multiple sound inputs, and screen captures. He needed to keep all this organized and sorted for his huge upcoming editing project over the next couple of months. He handles this amazingly well and I know he was under a lot of stress. Thank you, Michael — you are the man!
And, of course, I was there to lead things and participate in just about every video. We covered almost all aspects of the printing process. Our goals were two-fold: First, we wanted to share how much easier printing has become as well. Second, we wanted to explain many of the things one needs to know about the more advanced aspects of printing. I think we did a pretty good job of covering the many aspects of the printing process.

Today, please enjoy the many pictures we shot from behind the scenes this past week. It was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed being back together. We also practiced safe COVID-19 practices. Before we began doing any videos, we all took COVID-19 rapid tests. Luckily, we all passed with a negative return.
I hope to get up to speed on the many ongoing articles in the pipeline and get publish them over the next few weeks.
