Color Space and colors in a photo shown in ColorThink Pro

Understanding basic color science will make your adventure in printing a lot easier to understand and help you accomplish great end results. I know it has the word science in it and that word alone probably will scare some folks off. However, in this video, Dan Steinhardt and Jeff Schewe make understanding color easy. You may finally get the whole concept from this

video if it has eluded you in the past.

Dano and Jeff will go over color space and use a clever program called ColorThink Pro to illustrate what a color profile looks like. In addition, this program can look at an image and show it overlaid onto the color profile. It’s all pretty interesting and certainly makes understanding color space a lot easier to comprehend.

We have a fun segment in this video where Jeff uses one of the fun toy-like items in my studio to illustrate color space. Like everything we are trying to do in this video series, our goal is to make printing easy and fun.

In the end, you will learn why we recommend using the largest color space available (ProPhoto) and with Epson printers, why it is a good choice.

We still have a good number of topics to cover. I want to thank Dan Steinhardt from Epson for his generosity in time and knowledge and Jeff Schewe, one of my best friends and a walking encyclopedia when it comes to all things digital.

Please enjoy.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
