For The Love Of Art

On Friday evening (September 23, 2023) my wife Debra and I attended a Gala at the Indianapolis Art Center. I am an artist is residence at the IAC and I have all my printers and gear there to teach classes on various photographic techniques.  The IAC has a unique vide and energy and it’s an honor to be part of the organization.

There are numerous shows during the year and several galleries in the building.  The facility is top notch and has class offering in just about any art form you can think of.  You can work with metal, clay, glass, paint, photography and so much more.  There is a gorgeous auditorium that is great for lectures and talks.

Last event was one of the years biggest fund raising programs and attracted hundreds of art lovers from around central Indiana.  There was abig bar, great music, a lovely offering of food, dancing, tours of studios and a silent auction that we succesfully bid on a painting and won.  The painting is already hanging in a prominent place in our home.

The point of all of this is that if you are lucky enough to live in a community that has an art center or an organizzation that supports the art then you should as aphotographic artist do all you can to support it.  Please, if you are ever passing through Indianapolis, please let me know and let’s visit.  Just last week oe of our readers made a visit and we had a great time talking photography.

Please enjoy.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
