We’re so excited to announce new workshops taking place in some of the most beautiful locations on the planet. These workshops are lead by four of the most well-known and experienced photographers.

If you have dreamed of traveling and taking exceptional photographs then one or more of these workshops is for you.   Places are already booking fast so take a look at the workshops and register today.

Glencoe Scotland, The Black Cottage
Glencoe Scotland, The Black Cottage

Glencoe, Scotland is magical.  It offers an exceptional and varying landscape.  UK’s Steve Gosling and Australian photographer extraordinaire Christian Fletcher will join me to be your hosts on this workshop. Glencoe will amaze you with its castles and rolling landscapes.  We will explore a number of locations that will assure you of coming home with portfolio quality images.  Complete details can be found on the Rockhopper Workshops site. This workshop is limited to 15 participants.

New Zealand, Earnslaw Burn
New Zealand, Earnslaw Burn

I have hosted several workshops in New Zealand and there is truly something amazing about this location.  The landscapes that we will visit are surreal and it’s no wonder they make up the background for the Hobbit movies.  Jackie Ranken, an amazing and award winning photographer, along with her husband Mike Langford will join me as we take you to some of the most photographic locations you can ever experience.

We’ll be doing two cruises along with a helicopter excursion to some absolutely incredible spots.  Our visit by helicopter to Ernnslaw Burn will be unlike anything you have ever seen.  We’ll fly into a location where we will be surrounded by high walled cliffs with at least a hundred waterfalls from the run off of major glaciers.  The opportunity for amazing photos will be extraordinary. There are many other locations along with a trip to Milford Sound that will keep you busy editing great images for months to come.  We’ll be staying at the lovely Hilton Hotel that will serve as our base of operations.  Details on this workshop can be found at Rockhopper Workshops. This workshop  is limited to 16 participants.

website-logo.ashxTo make our workshops to Glencoe and New Zealand even more appealing, Phase One has come aboard and will offer any attendee who would like the opportunity to shoot with a Phase One camera during the workshop.  They will provide a complete camera system along with a bank of Phase One lenses, at no charge.  This is a unique opportunity to capture these amazing landscape locations with a state of the art medium format camera.  If you have never experienced a file from a Phase One system you’ll be in for a real surprise.  A Phase One representative will be on the workshop to make sure you experience the most from this opportunity.

2016 Workshops

The Beauty Of Patagonia
The Beauty Of Patagonia

We recently announced the first two workshop offerings in 2016. We will visit Patagonia (March 30 – April 9, 2016) and Altiplano (April 11 – 20, 2016) which are two gorgeous locations with extraordinary landscapes.  Joining me on these two workshops will be Art Wolfe, a most talented and recognized photographers, and Igancio Palacios a Spanish photographer who knows the region well and has produced stunning images of the area.

Patagonia is known for its mountains and majestic views.  We will visit the best locations and travel through the region to make sure we don’t miss one angle or opportunity for adding portfolio quality images to your own collection.  Along the way you’ll learn and work alongside the three instructors.  This will be a workshop that you won’t forget.  The maximum number of attendees will be 16 people.  Spots are already booking.  Complete information can be found at Rockhopper workshops.

Altiplano

‘Edge Of The Planet’ is about the only way you can describe Altiplano.  We’ll be traveling through parts of Chile and Bolivia on this workshop, reaching altitudes of 5000 meters.  This location is so different than anything you may have seen before.  Incredible light paired with stunning landscapes will mean you return from this trip with images that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.  Visit the Rockhopper Workshops site to see more images and a detailed itinerary of what will be one of the most amazing adventures of your life.  This workshop is limited to 16 attendees.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
