In May 2002 I was privileged to participate in a photographic expedition organized by Michael Reichmann and CC Lockwood. The workshop involved rafting the length of the Colorado River between Lees Ferry and Pearce Ferry, approximately 270 miles downstream. The expedition lasted an all too short 8 days, and during this period I shot 32 rolls of Fuji Provia F100 transparency film.

Given the lack of any facility to recharge batteries I decided not to bring my Canon EOS D30 digital camera instead opting for the Canon EOS 1V and its immediate predecessor the EOS1N. Lenses ranged from a Sigma 14mm super wide angle through to a Canon 100-400 IS zoom. I donºt think there was any lens that didnºt get used although my recently acquired Canon 24mm Tilt Shift saw more than its fair share of use.

The photographic opportunities presented by the Grand Canyon are infinite and the images presented here are only a small sample. I hope have you enjoyed viewing them as much as I enjoyed my time capturing them.

Finally, I would like to thank all those who took part in this adventure and trust that they enjoyed our time together as much as I did.
