Happy Thanksgiving

We made it to Thanksgiving 2022.  Every year, this is a milestone.  It seems that every new year has brought its own challenges and makes Thanksgiving a time to reflect and raise our hands in celebration and say yes; we made it.

We got through the pandemic, although it wasn’t easy.  We made it through family challenges.  Our workshop business had its challenges, but we did it and had a good year.  Most of all, when we were booted out of our studio location at the Stutz, we found it to be a blessing in disguise when we found our new space at the Indianapolis Art Center.  Check out my article in case you missed it, For Once A Silver Lining.

All our kids and family are healthy and pushing forward with new goals in their lives.  My poor sister lost her home in the hurricane, but even she is pushing forward with rebuilding.  No matter what life throws at us, we keep going.  We also spend time reflecting and being thankful that we are all still here.

This Thanksgiving, Debra and I will enjoy Thanksgiving with her extended family.  We don’t have to do anything but show up and enjoy the turkey and all the fixings.  It should be a lot of fun.  For the rest of the long weekend, we will work on things around our house.  We. are just finishing up a major construction project outside.

We have a new water feature which is just lovely.  Our entertainment shack is now completely remodeled with a new foundation and front deck.  We took down an old deck and have made a patio out of these lovely pavers.  We look forward to enjoying it next spring.

I am redoing my Man Cave area to accommodate a lot of things I brought home from the studio.  I hope that we will finish my space over the next few weeks.  Debra has completely redone her studio/office, and it’s really pretty cozy and fun.  It reflects her personality so much. Plus she is really happy as she just got a MacBook Pro 16 inch.  She’s looking forward to diving into some projects that she had put on hold.

Meanwhile, all our pets are having a blast.  We have four cats that think everything we are doing around the house is for them.  Maggie, our dog is living it too.  The four-legged creatures in this house are so cool.  We have a lot to be thankful for with the cats and dog.  They are truly a part of this family in a big way and give back so much love.  Just one more thing to be thankful for.

I guess you can tell we are heading into this Thanksgiving on a high note, for once.

I am personally thankful for all the readers that have stayed with us through these last few challenging years.  It means the world to me.  Now that many of the things that have demanded so much of my time are nearing completion, I plan on publishing more articles.  There is quite a list of articles sitting in my idea file. We will also soon announce our printing workshops, especially because we have such a cool place to hold them now.  We will also announce some more locations for workshops.  We just got an opening for one of the Palouse workshops.  The Greenland workshop has two berths left and we still have space for one of our most fun workshops in the Faroe Islands.  More workshops are coming and I plan on these being 4 person workshops like I do in the Palouse.  So, stay tuned.

In closing Debra and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and that you have time to spend time with your family and loved ones as well as those cute four-legged creatures we call our pets.  Be safe and we’ll be back with more in a few days.

Happy Thanksgiving

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
