Michael Duur creates the outdoors – indoors. A behind the scenes look

A few weeks ago we published a story about our very own Michael Durr, video producer here at photoPXL. The project we featured was an idea of Erin Sullivan’s a well known and exceptional landscape photographer. The concept was that if you couldn’t go outdoors to photograph then bring the outdoors indoors.

Erin shared this idea on her Instagram account and it kind of went viral as photographers joined in during their period of home confinement and met the challenge of making their own scenes indoors. We featured Michael’s story, Great Outdoors Photo Challenge Indoors on photoPXL.

Erin Sullivan’s Instagram account is @erinoutdoors and you can find the images for this project at the hashtag #ourgreatindoors. Please take a look at her Instagram account and follow her as well as the hashtag account to see all the cool images that were made by hundreds of photographers with cabin fever.

It turns out that this whole idea caught the eye of CBS Sunday Morning and was featured this past Sunday. The segment is below. I think you’ll find it a fun little piece and maybe it will encourage you to find some incentive to add your images to the mix. Go for it. And, great job Michael! And, especially you Erin for such a creative idea.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
