If you have been involved in any part of photography, you certainly know of the Weston name.
This next Photo Chat will feature Kim Weston, who will discuss his new book, “Growing Up Weston, In The Presence Of Women.”
Kim Weston’s new book, “Growing Up Weston, In the Presence of Women,” is a magnum opus of the photographic medium and a guidebook to the lives of the Weston family, which goes back four generations. It’s as much an in-depth history of Weston’s personal lives as it is an archive of artistic mastery. It is a step-by-step illustration of the Weston family’s photographic genius, narrated by Kim through his own personal viewpoint, not just about his life but about his family and those who inspired him. You will discover the rich history behind the art, revealing the inner workings that drove the creative processes.
He will also discuss the direction of his latest work and his plan to offer online portfolio reviews.

More About The Westons
Kim and Gina Weston are part of a family of renowned photographers and long-time residents of Carmel Highlands, CA. The Weston family has a long history of exceptional photography work, spanning multiple generations. They are well-known for their contributions to fine art photography, particularly in black and white.
There are several reasons why the Weston family is so interesting, including Their Generational Legacy. The Weston family’s interest in photography spans several generations, beginning with Edward Weston, one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. The winners are awarded cash prizes, and their works are displayed in a museum exhibition.
Zach Weston, the Executive Director of The Weston Collective (formerly known as the Weston Scholarship), together with wife Jalena, are educators and mentors to young photographers in high school and college, studying fine-art, black and white film photography in Monterey County. The Weston Collective headquarters is located in Seaside, CA, where Zach has partnered with Martin Luther King Jr. School of the Arts and now teaches 5th graders darkroom photography. The Weston Collective not only helps the students of Seaside, many of whom are underprivileged, but also rents the darkroom/developing room/studio to the public, hosts photography workshops, and offers summer programs for the greater Monterey County community.
