Conversations for Photographers by Photographers

Your hosts for the NEW Photo Chats, John Cornicello, Jeff Schewe, Holger Mischke and Kevin Raber
Your hosts for the NEW Photo Chats, John Cornicello, Jeff Schewe, Holger Mischke and Kevin Raber

I am very excited to announce that we will soon be launching Photo Chats.  This is a rebrand of a project John Cornicello did during the pandemic.  It was quite an undertaking by John, and it was hugely popular.  I’m sure some of you participated in it.

The originator of the Conversations series, John Cornicello.John did an amazing job for one person, but after the pandemic, the project faded as we got back to normal life.  I am pleased to announce that Jeff Schewe, Holger Mischke, John Cornicello, and myself have decided to relaunch this project again.  We will be calling it Photo Chats, and it will be an every-other-week event.

Our first kick-off event is scheduled to be on February 14th at 2 PM (Eastern time).  This event will be an introduction to what we have planned and some of the guests that we are lining up. The event is being held as a Zoom Meeting.  You must register for it, and we can have 100 people online at one time.  All attendees will be able to participate.

Your hosts will be Kevin Raber, John Cornicello, Holger Mischke, and Jeff Schewe.  It should be fun and lively.  We will be taking suggestions from those who are online regarding topics to be covered in the future and speakers you’d like to see.

Look for a separate Zoom launch article in the very near future.  Click on the link and sign up, and then you will receive the info for logging onto the event.  Each event will last about an hour, but if you want to stick around longer for casual conversation and questions, feel free to do so.

All the events will be recorded and made available on the photoPXL YouTube channel. If you’d like to view previous recordings, you can find them on John’s YouTube channel.  Look for an accompanying article that lists all of John’s past conversations with a short description and link directly to the video.

What Is A Photo Chat?

Photo Chats are Zoom-based meetings with up to a hundred participants.  They are recorded in case you miss the Live Photo Chat.  Each week, we feature a new photographer.  Many are well-known photographers, and each will share a short presentation on a relative topic to their work and style of photography.  These Photo Chats are completely FREE!  All you must do is register to obtain the link to the meeting.

Who hasn’t heard of Dr. Russell Brown?  Check him out on Instagram and Facebook.  Russell is a Senior Principal Designer at Adobe Inc.  He is one of the best presenters I have ever seen.  His goal is to educate and inspire the photographic wonders of all things mobile.  He is one of the original Adobe employees, and he has an amazingly creative and enthusiastic approach to photography.  This is an event you don’t want to miss.  Look for an invitation on this site soon.

It’s Going To Be Fun and Informative

All of us look forward to seeing you online next month.  We are speaking to a number of well-known photographers about being part of this series.  We will keep you informed as the calendar is filled.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
