Part Three Of The ImagePrint Series

cut It Out
The Cut It Out machine in action

I have seen a lot of cool products in the photography industry over the years, but this new paper cutter product Cut It Out, sold by ColorByte Software, is one of the coolest.

One of the things I have had to endure over the years when printing is having to cut multiple prints out of a sheet of paper after printing. This means a lot of time with a paper cutter and following printed crop marks that are no longer visible after a few cuts. I’m sure every one of you who has been printing knows exactly what I am talking about.

Cut It Out now makes other paper cutters a thing of the past. This, in my opinion, is a hot product and a must-have for anyone doing any significant printing. It works in conjunction with ImagePrint.

What it does, essentially, is to take the information for a layout done using ImagePrint, and it transfers the information to the Cut It Out machine. You align the paper in the cutter and press the go button, and magically all your prints are cut out accurately. We show a few examples in the video below.

You even have the option to cut out specialty items as well as adding rounded corners and perforations for tear-offs. Imagine this as a C&C Machine for paper. In the video, we show it cutting out photo stickers too.

To me, this is game-changing in the printing field, and it must be seen to be believed. As I mentioned previously, we are thinking about doing a workshop series at our gallery and offices in Indianapolis. Please give us feedback on the forum if this is something you’d be interested in.  Our plan is to do two different workshops. One will be an ImagePrint workflow printing workshop and the other a Lightroom/Photoshop workflow fine art printing workshop. Let us know if this something of interest to you.

In the meantime, if you are looking for a simple, easy-to-use printing system, consider ImagePrint and Cut It Out by ColorByte Software. ImagePrint works with both Epson and Canon printers.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
