It’s been awhile since Chris, Michael and I have been on the road together. This week we’ll be heading to Seattle, WA and Oregon for busy days of meetings, videos interviews, product testing and some new video material with Michael and me. Plus, we’ll be photographing together; there is nothing like being out in the landscape shooting with friends.

I am traveling with a lot of gear for this trip. I am bringing the Sony a7 II system primarily so I can work with the NEW 35mm 1.4 lens. My initial finding are that this is an incredible addition to the Sony line (with a price tag to match). My kit also includes the 16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm and the 16mm fisheye (A mount) lens and adapter. I also just received the NEW Really Right Stuff L-Bracket for use with the Sony A7 II with the battery grip.

We will be shooting in the Columbia River Gorge for a few days and I am bringing my Lee Seven 5 Filter kit in case I want to do some long exposures. My main tripod for the trip will be the Really Right Stuff TVC24 Tripod. On this tripod I have the Uniqball UBH 45 Ball Head.
I also have a NEW tripod with me that we will be testing and we’ll keep it a surprise for now. It looks pretty cool, really light and most of all compact. If it delivers what it is supposed to, we’ll tell you all about it.
The NEW Olympus OM-D E-M5 is also in my case. We just got this two weeks ago. Very impressive so far. We’ll be testing this camera’s multi-exposure – Hi-Res shooting mode. Chris will also be testing the camera in video mode.
Chris will be doing a lot of Video while we are shooting in the woods as well as various interviews we have scheduled. He will be loaded with Panasonic GH4s and his usual arsenal of lenses.

Michael is bringing his NEW Rollei Twin Lens FILM Camera. He has been playing around with shooting BW film and developing it in his bathroom. Just like the good ole days. We’ll have video and more on this new direction that Michael has taken. And, for more instant satisfaction he’ll bring his Pentax 645 system.
We have a few articles that will post while we are gone. If we can we’ll do an ‘on the road’ report. We look forward to sharing our adventures, interviews and evaluations of the new gear we will be using.
