Kevin Raber and Jeff Schewe discuss prints made during this Soft Proofing tutorial

Photography is about the print.  You have heard it before and you’ll continue hearing this—at least from all of us at Luminous-Landscape.  For some, making a good print can be challenging.  But it doesn’t have to be difficult, especially when you understand a few basics.  As a member of this site you have access to a very good video tutorial that will help you understand and make better prints.  Camera to Print & Screen is a 12 hour video tutorial made up of 60 plus videos that will cover everything you need to know to make the best print possible.

Over the last few months we have been testing new printers as well as the new Legacy Papers from Epson. I sat down with Jeff Schewe while testing the printer and papers and together we go through the process of Soft Proofing in Lightroom.  Using soft proofing with the right ICC Paper Profile will help you see on the screen what you will get on the print.  I urge you to try the method shown in this video.  If you have ever experienced a print different from what you saw on your computer monitor, then maybe this will give you the help you need to solve that problem.

If you’d like more information in printed form on this and many other great topics on digital photography you can pick up one of Jeff’s many books at Amazon.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
