After 17 days of Debra fighting COVID-19, she went back to work today for a half-day. First and foremost Debra and I would like to say Thank You to all the PXL family that expressed thoughts, prayers, and wishes for us and especially Debra. All of this started as you may have read with the passing of her father. We were fortunate that the hospital allowed Debra to be with her father when he passed. And, even though she was fully protected with PPE, including gloves, gowns, face shield and mask. Somehow though she must have picked up the virus from her father. The suffering she went through for the last two weeks I wouldn’t wish on anybody. Luckily for her and us, she is a strong woman and she bravely fought this virus.
We did have the paramedics visit once and after she stabilized a bit they recommended that we continue home treatment. Essentially they said you don’t want to go to the hospital. The symptoms ravaged Debra and I was helpless to hold her. We decided on a protocol and maintained distances and masks and lots of hand sanitizing. Lucky for me I have not caught this virus. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully, we can put this behind us and move on.
I am so thankful that I have my smiling best friend and beautiful wife back. She’ll get stronger every day.
I can now focus more on PXL. We have some projects we are working on to make the site even better and we should be able to roll those out in the coming months. We will be recording a NEW on Te Rocks episode within the week plus some really cool Zoom conversations. I have a couple of tripod reviews, printer stories, and even some cameras to talk about like the NEW Fuji XT-4 I just received. We will also be announcing 2021 workshops that we are keeping our fingers crossed that may be able to happen. My goal is to be optimistic and adjust as we go.

Today the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flew over our hospital to honor all the front line workers during the COVID crisis. After what we went through I had to be there with my camera in hand to photograph them. These images were made with my Sony a9 and my favorite lens the Sony G-Master 100-400mm lens. Shutter speed was 1/1600th sec. f/8 auto ISO. Processed in Capture One 20.
