Faroe Islands – May 17-24, 2025
Incredible Beauty and Photographic Opportunities

The Faroe Islands, an archipelago nestled in the North Atlantic between Iceland and Norway, offer photographers a unique blend of dramatic landscapes, unpredictable weather, and unspoiled beauty. Comprising 18 volcanic islands connected by tunnels, ferries, causeways, and bridges, this remote destination is a haven for those seeking to capture nature’s raw splendor.

Geographical Location and Climate

Situated about halfway between Iceland and Norway, the Faroe Islands boast a coastline stretching approximately 1,289 kilometers (800 miles), ensuring that you’re never more than 5 kilometers (3 miles) from the sea. The terrain is characterized by rugged mountains, verdant valleys, and steep coastal cliffs teeming with seabirds. The islands’ position in the North Atlantic results in highly changeable weather, offering photographers the chance to capture moody and evocative images under varying light conditions.

There are at this writing 4 spots left – don’t hesitate to register.

Unspoiled Beauty

The Faroe Islands are renowned for their untouched landscapes, featuring dramatic cliffs, rolling hills, and deep fjords. Waterfalls like the famous Múlafossur cascade directly into the ocean, adding to the archipelago’s ethereal charm. Traditional villages with turf-roofed houses dot the islands, providing a glimpse into the Faroese way of life and offering picturesque scenes for photographers.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
