Award Winning Cine Lenses 
 
Leica has a lot more going on than just Leica cameras and lenses.  A division of Leica not too many people know about is CW Sonderoptic.  This part of Leica design and manufacture some of the finest Cine lenses in the world.  The company even won an academy award for their lenses.
 
Chris and I got a tour of the CW Sonderoptic factory and saw the care and dedication of not only the engineering team but those that handle make the lenses.  I then sat down with Rainer Hercher, General Director of Sales and Marketing -CW Sonderoptic, and learned more about this very interesting segment of Leica.
These lenses need to be seen and touched to be really appreciated.  Each lens is so meticulously made that even the focus scale is custom made for each lens.  Most f the lenses made by Sonderoptics are sold to rental houses.
