When I started landscape photography, I was influenced by those who came before me. I tried to create photographs similar to theirs. I tried to find the same locations and use the same gear. Doing so was both satisfying and frustrating. Satisfying because I followed in their footsteps. Frustrating because no matter how hard I tried, my photographs did not look like theirs.
