Studio Tour

A pano of the studio from one corner

As many of you know, I am a dedicated and passionate photographer as well as the publisher of Luminous-Landscape. Moreover, being a photographer requires a lot of room for printers, computers and such. Some years ago when Debra and I decided to combine our households into one, we knew we needed extra space as all the gear I have accumulated would not fit into our new home.

I needed space, and one of the places I always wanted to be part of was The Stutz in downtown Indianapolis. The Stutz is a giant building where Stutz automobiles used to be manufactured. The building was converted years ago to studios and small offices. There are over 80 artists of various disciplines in the building plus numerous innovative start-up and tech companies. It’s indeed a unique place.

The building has its own restaurant and bar, art galleries, as well as a giant collection of vintage cars. There is a spirit in the building that is hard to explain. Everyone is super friendly, and there are many activities throughout the year to promote the resident artists.

I have now been a tenant of this cool place for nearly five years. This past year we did a remodel of our space. The space I have is multi-faceted. We can use it as a gallery, teaching area as well as a video studio. We also have numerous workstations and do much of the administration, image edits for Luminous-Landscape here.

I also have office space at home where I work when not at the studio. I have a dual screen set up as well as an iMac Pro and over 80 TB of combined Raid Hard Disk Storage.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
