Charlie’s Story, What’s In The Bags, Arca Swiss Gear Head
and Piano, Prints and Studio

We continue our Shooting With The Master Series with 4 more videos.  Today’s videos finish up our shooting on location and we end up at Charlie’s house with a tour of his studio. We’ll have another 2 sets of videos after today’s series focusing on printing.

Charles is an interesting gentleman and his story is interesting and inspiring.  In this video, you’ll learn how Charles got into photography.  His original interest and focus were playing the piano.  His entry into photography was not something he planned.

The Arca-Swiss Gear Head

I have been a big fan of the Arca Swiss Cube head for a long time.  The Cube allows you to to do fine adjustments and movements of your camera through a finely machined set of gears.   Charlie shows us the modern day version of this, The Arca-Swiss Gear Head D4.  Oh, how sweet it is.  After using this head and seeing how versatile and light it is I am totally hooked and will be adding this to my gear bag early next year.

Charlie’s Piano, Prints, and Studio

We move from the field to Charles home and studio.  We start the tour in Charlie’s living room where we see his Mason-Hamlin Grand Piano and listen to him tease us with a few chords.  We then go out back and get a tour of the studio we will be spending the next set of videos in.

We hope you enjoyed this segment of the Shooting With The Masters.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
