Southern Iceland In Winter – 2016
February 19-27, 2016

Iceland is a photographer’s paradise with some of the world’s most extraordinary landscapes and it is as exciting in winter as it is in summer. At the end of February the darkness of the sub-Arctic winter is starting to lift and the days are becoming longer. The sun is low in the sky during this time of year, potentially providing wonderful golden light throughout the day. We’ll have up to 8 hours of daylight and with luck the Northern Lights will increase our photographic opportunities far into the night.

We are going to concentrate on western and southern Iceland on this 9-day workshop. The main focus of will be ice caves in the Vatnajökull region, outlet glaciers and glacial lagoons, icebergs on a black beach, frozen waterfalls, rugged mountains, coastal features and the Northern Lights (Aurora borealis).

Join Kevin Raber, Daniel Bergmann and Christopher Lund for an amazing adventure in an incredible landscape during a time that truly defines Iceland.  More information can be found as well as pricing and a link to Registration on the Rockhopper Workshops Website.

New Orleans Urban Landscape 2016
March 7-11, 2016

New Orleans is a complex melange: the 19th century architecture of the old city, from the French Quarter, Marigny, Tremé, to the Garden District; the elaborate necropolises of the dead; the eccentric street life found on Bourbon and Frenchmen streets; the second line parades; the intimate jazz clubs. Layers of patina coat the entire experience. The many cultural influences that created the New Orleans we know today are unique in North America. Nearby are swamps and wetlands that offer a haunting, fecund natural landscape. For a photographer, it’s both a dream and a challenge.

Join Kevin Raber along with Richard Sexton, a New Orleans local, as we explore all aspects of this beautiful city.  Our hotel, The Omni Royal Orleans, will be the base of our operations and is conveniently located in the heart of the French Quarter. We will have a meeting room for the duration of the workshop where we will offer classroom instruction as well our image editing and print critiques.  Step outside of the hotel and you’ll find hours of street photography potential within blocks of the hotel.  There is always a parade at some point and the characters on the street will amaze you.

More information as long as pricing and registration can be found at Rockhopper Workshops.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
