Charlotte Gibb: The Intimate Landscapes of Yosemite by Nick Taylor

After the wonderful reaction to our profile of bayou photographer Charles Martin in March, we’ve filmed some more short documentaries profiling landscape photographers in the environments that they love best, which we will be rolling out over the coming months. For this piece we are heading to Yosemite National Park with photographer Charlotte Gibb. Yosemite is known, of course, for it’s legendary vistas made famous by Ansel Adams and his many disciples, but Charlotte usually works on a much smaller scale. Her intimate landscapes are subtle and evocative and they can be found at https://www.charlottegibb.com/.

Huge thanks to Charlotte and her husband Gary for hosting me in Yosemite and showing a neophyte around! Stay tuned for a couple of follow-up videos with Charlotte as we explore the changing seasons in Yosemite and discuss some favourite compositions. PS – The strange plant we encountered in the video is a Sarcodes Sanguina, otherwise know as a Snow Plant.
