A Field Video and Interview with Nick Devlin
The digital revolution may well be over, but don’t tell that to Nick Devlin. Nick is a good friend and also a frequent contributor to LuLa.
He has long embraced digital, currently working with both Pentax 645z and Leica M Monochrome systems. But film is still in his blood – or at least fixer may be. In an act of apparent dementia Nick recently purchased an 8X10″ Deardorf and began using it both for studio portraits and some occasional landscape work.
A few weeks ago I spent a day shooting landscapes with Nick, and also videoing him in the field and in the darkroom, documenting his hybrid workflow.
I hope that you enjoy this 11 minute interview and its insights into a way of working that blends the old and the new.
