Canon EOS 20D Review Part One

This review and tests were performed on a pre-production camera. Its performance may not thereforebe reflective of what full production cameras will be like. Once a full production camera is availableit will be re-tested and this review will be updated if there are noticeable differences.

Canon has announced the EOS 20D. This is their fourth-generation prosumer DSLR, following the D30, D60 and 10D. Shipment will begin in September, and the retail price will likely be lower than that of the previous 10D, though it will of course vary from country to country.
The key questions that everyone wants to know are — what are the new features, how well do they work, and how does the camera handle in the field?
