A few weeks ago Luminous-Landscape invited some friends to spend a few days at the Luminous-Landscape offices and gallery in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Joining me was Jeff Schewe, Dan “Dano” Steinhardt and Mark Segal.  Also, present but always behind the camera doing our videos was Chris Sanderson.  From Colorbyte Software, makers of the Imageprint RIP Software was John Pannozzo.  John will appear in a separate video in the near future.

The objective of this visit was to explore the new printers from Canon and Epson as well the NEW Legacy Paper line from Epson.  We have previously reviewed the Epson P800 and Canon PRO-1000 printers,   Now it was time to look at the results of the Epson Legacy papers.

The NEW Legacy Papers come in four different finishes

Print and Paper Discussion with Kevin, Jeff and Dano

Jeff, Dano and I took some of our challenging files and made prints on the different print surfaces.  As you can imagine it is hard to show what paper surfaces look like on a video.  So, we made prints and talked about what we saw and felt.  This is shared in the two videos below.  It is strongly advised that you order a sample pack of paper and try these out yourself.

It should be noted that the prints shown in the videos for Jeff and Dano were made by printing directly from Lightroom or Photoshop using the provided profiles by Epson.  I made my prints using Imageprint and the profiles that were made by Colorbyte.  You’ll hear mention of this throughout the video.

Photography is my passion and has been for 45 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of pictures taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through Rockhopper Workshops and other projects as well as teaching at my Gallery in Indianapolis.
