About Alain Briot

Alain Briot lives and works in the heart of the Southwestern Luminous Landscape. After spending 7 years in Chinle, Arizona, on the Navajo Reservation, Alain moved to Peoria, Arizona, in January 2003. This location allows him access to the Sonoran Desert and to new photographic opportunities. Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly and the Grand Canyon are his backyard, and he explores them in depth with an artist’s eye.

Born and educated in France, Alain has made the U.S. his home since 1986. He has studied painting and drawing at the Academie des Beaux Arts in Paris, and photography at the American Center also in Paris.  After moving to the U.S. Alainreceived his Bachelor and Masters degrees fromNorthern Arizona Universityin Flagstaff, Arizona, and worked on his PhD atMichigan Technological Universityin Houghton, Michigan.

Today Alain creates Fine Art photographs,  teaches photography workshops and Seminars,  and offers DVD tutorials.  Alain authored 3 books:Mastering Landscape Photography, Mastering Composition, Creativity and Personal Style,andMarketing Fine Art Photography. Information on all these are available onAlain’s website.
